Cher Aqua
Taiwanese Tea & Cusine in the Opera House
Client: Cher Aqua
Industry: Cafe & Restaurant
Nestled on the first floor of the iconic National Taichung Theatre, designed by renowned Pritzker Prize-winning Japanese architect Toyo Ito, Cher Aqua introduces a contemporary take on Taiwanese tea culture and cuisine. With its modern yet welcoming aesthetic, the restaurant offers a thoughtfully curated tea collection paired with innovative Taiwanese dishes, creating a space where tradition meets elegance.
The brand vision for Cher Aqua is rooted in tea, culture, sustainability, and the art of living. Through a harmonious blend of tea-infused dining, curated selections, lifestyle aesthetics, and tea workshops, the restaurant provides a multi-sensory experience that embodies a graceful and relaxing way of life.
The name Cher Aqua—represented in Chinese as 「蒔 瀞」—reflects its core values. 「蒔」(shí) signifies planting with care, while 「瀞」(jìng) symbolizes the purest, most serene water. Together, these principles guide the brand’s dedication to showcasing seasonal tea flavors and thoughtfully prepared dishes crafted with love and attention.
In this tranquil and refined space, Cher Aqua invites guests to savor moments of beauty and connection, celebrating the warmth of Taiwanese hospitality and the elegance of its culinary and tea culture.
